We woke up early to provide a pancake breakfast for our sponsor the First United Methodist Church on Scout Sunday. It was a bright and sunny day. We arrived at the church at 6:45 a.m., and started to set the tables and get ready before the 9:00 Service. Adults cooked the pancakes and sausage, while the scouts set up the tables, set the place settings, and ate breakfast. This weekend was Daylight Savings time where we push the clocks forward, so everyone lost an hour of sleep, which might explain why we had no patrons for breakfast before the 9:00 a.m. service. At 10 a.m. the mass ended and the congregation poured into to Trevor Hall. We had about 20 scouts serving them and bussing tables. They would serve them patrons food, and drink. Then we would reset the table with plates, napkins, utensils, and cups for coffee. Then the dirty dishes would be brought back and cleaned by the scouts and put into the dishwasher. When the first mass came, all of the 15 or so tables with 6 people each where filled. When the 11:00 a.m. service ended at 12:00 p.m. none of the church members came to us for breakfast, so we started to clean up. At about 1:25 p.m. we finished cleaning and left. Our guests were generous, and we received $748 in donations. Murphy took home all of the used towels and aprons to clean and Mr. Sturrock picked up replacement paper placemats.
