Newport Sea Base Conditioning Trek

We went to Newport Sea base to practice our canoeing skills before we go to Northern Tier.

We arrived at the First United Methodist Church at 8 a.m. and left at 8:45 a.m.. We arrived at Newport Sea Base at about 9:45 and started class at 10 a.m.. We put on the PFD's (personal flotation devise) and placed the canoes into the water.

We paddled to a yellow buoy and practiced getting in and out of the canoes in the seawater and two canoe rescue. Then we paddled around the island and washed the canoes off and put away the PFD's. We had lunch around 12:30 p.m. and left at 1 p.m.. We arrived at the First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m..
